Great selectivity in treating pigmented lesions and tattoos
The DUOLITE LASER TONING is a simple, effective treatment suitable for all skin types which addresses multiple skin issues. It is a non-ablative procedure where patients can return to their normal daily routines immediately afterwards. It delivers highly satisfactory results by plumping, smoothing and clarifying your skin. Regular laser toning can diminish surface flaws like pigmentation and wrinkles, or imperfections caused by conditions like acne and rosacea, and refine enlarged pores.
Each laser wavelength (a single colour of light) target a particular structure (chromophore) in the skin. If the correct laser wavelength is selected the laser will target the pigment and leave the surrounding tissues unaffected. The DUOLITE LASER TONING lasers have multiple laser wavelengths to provide greater versatility to target different colours in the skin.
Other Skin Pigmentation
DUOLITE LASER TONING is safe and effective for all skin types. It is ideal for patients with cosmetic concerns like fine lines and wrinkles, blotchy skin, sun damage, acne scarring, and for tattoo removal.
Light-based treatment of many types of pigmentation targets the melanin in the pigment according to its density and depth. The pigmented lesions are divided into epidermal and dermal, depending on the depth of the pigment.
Pigmentation treatments can be treated by a number of different Laser and IPL technologies. These include Duolite Q-switched laser, laser wavelengths that target melanin, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or Smartxide2 DOT Therapy fractional laser.
Different tattoo colours are targeted different wavelengths. The DUOLITE can removing numerous colours through an infrared wavelength (1064 nm) that targets black and blue tattoos. The DUOLITE is even effective in dark phototypes due to the low absorption of this wavelength by the melanin in the skin. The green light (532 nm) targets on red or reddish colours in tattoos.
DUOLITE can be used on professional, amateur, cosmetic, and traumatic tattoos. The different dyes present in the tattoo may respond differently to the laser treatment.
The number of treatments will vary according to the type of tattoo, the colour, the depth and the density of the pigment, the anatomical site on the body, and the age of the patient and the tattoo.
Amateur tattoos usually respond better and are eliminated in from 1 to 4 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. More sessions are usually necessary for professional tattoos – on average 6 –10 – with 6 to 8 week intervals in between.
The procedure does not usually require an anaesthetic. The effect of the laser is described as similar to the sharp ping of a rubber band on the skin. If required a topical anaesthetic can be applied before treatment on some body areas that are more sensitive or in the case of particularly sensitive patients.
The procedure results in the rejuvenation of the face, neck, hands and décolleté because it plumps, smoothes and clarifies. DUOLITE also promotes sub-dermal collagen production so that skin texture, color and tone continue to improve long after your doctor’s appointment.
TATTOO REMOVAL RESULTS
In many cases the tattoo completely disappears. However, this result cannot always be achieved if the tattoo contains diverse pigments with different depth and density characteristics. In these case an intense fading effect is likely to be expected.
FOR TATTOO REMOVAL
After treatment the treated area must be protected and medicated. An antibiotic cream is applied immediately after the operation and on the following days. Commonly oedemas or small scabs form and it is important not to pick off or scratch the scabs to prevent any possible scarring or dyschromies. The lesion usually heals in 4 to 10 days.
During the entire duration of the treatment it is important to keep the skin protected from the suns’ rays by using a total sun block.
